Water-repellents are perhaps the most underrated, yet cost-effective part
of any new masonry construction or historic masonry preservation. Few
people would ever leave the back-deck on their home untreated, yet building
owners consistently neglect to apply water-repellents to their masonry.
When
you waterproof masonry surfaces (concrete, brick, block,
terra-cotta, limestone, etc.), a long lasting barrier is formed which keeps
your masonry protected from the elements. Water-repellents can not
only keep the color and beauty of masonry locked in, but it keeps it
protected from the harmful effects of freeze-thaw damage, acid rain, or dirt
and other air pollutants.
Waterproofing also protect against
