The historic St. Theresa School building, was originally built in 1905.  Like the other 48 St. Louis Area school buildings designed by the nationally acclaimed architect William Ittner, the Theresa School building features beautifully ornate Gothic style terra-cotta and brick design.   All of his St. Louis area school buildings are listed on the National Historic Register.  William Ittner's structures are nationally renowned.  Having produced hundreds of school buildings in over 25 states, these unique structures are modern relics of young American architecture.  The Theresa School building was originally planned for destruction so that a new strip mall, including a Walgreen's and a Starbucks, could be erected in its place.  However, when school district officials learned of the building's unique historical significance, it quickly reversed its decision.  In partnership with BSI Constructors Inc., James G. Staat Tuckpointing provided full masonry restoration to the 98 year old structure, including an abundance of restoration cleaning, tuckpointing, and masonry repair.
